Worcestershire LEP Chair, Mark Stansfeld: 19 May

It’s great to see business relationships between Worcestershire and America are continuing to grow. The US cyber business delegation taking place next month, 5-9 June, is great evidence of this growing relationship.

The delegation follows the success of last year’s regional cyber trade mission to Maryland and I look forward to welcoming the US delegates back to the Midlands. As part of the delegation we’ll be visiting QinetiQ in Malvern on 8 June to discuss the potential business opportunities available with US partners. Our long term business relationship will then be formalised when we join the US delegation in signing a Memorandum of Understanding on 21 June. This strong relationship between Worcestershire and Maryland businesses is great for boosting our local economy and helping to profile our world class businesses to global markets.

Worcestershire LEP will continue to work with Marches LEP, Hereford Enterprise Zone, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce and the Department for International Trade as part of this three year delegation programme between 2016-2018. More information on the delegation is available on our website with the opportunity to register your cyber business at the US-UK collaboration event.

I am delighted to see that local businesses from other industries are also growing their presence in America. Select-Research in Malvern has recently launched a newly-developed Body Volume Indicator (BVI) application in the US, which is set to revolutionise the health industry. I am pleased that Worcestershire LEP has been able to directly support Select Research in their early stages of launching this product and more information about the Body Volume Indicator app is available on our website.

We are always looking to promote Worcestershire’s many business success stories and please do feel free to send your stories to us by emailing enquiries@wlep.co.uk
