Worcestershire LEP is delighted to have invested in one of the country’s largest city-wide electric bike share schemes, Woo Bikes, which has been brought to life thanks to a partnership between local organisations.
The Woo Bikes scheme is initially being piloted by staff and students at the University of Worcester but will be open to other employers in the city. We hope to see the scheme expand to other parts of the county in the future.
We are proud to have been able to invest a total of £50,000 into the project which will help to provide a healthy and convenient way for people to travel across the city. I think that the Woo Bikes scheme really captures the fantastic partnership approach that exists within the local business community and we would like to thank local company Gtech for providing the innovative electric bikes for the scheme.
For further information on the Woo Bikes scheme, including costs and the opportunity to sign yourself up, visit the University of Worcester website www.worcester.ac.uk/discover/bike-share.
As always, we’ll be meeting with many businesses throughout the year to discuss the latest business developments taking place locally. We are particularly looking forward to joining many more businesses at the Worcestershire Skills Show on Wednesday 7 March and at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce business expo taking place on Thursday 8 March.
Last week we announced the date of our Worcestershire LEP Annual Conference for 2018 and I would encourage all companies to save the date for our event on Friday 30 November 2018. As one of Worcestershire’s largest business events, it will be great to welcome many more companies back to our Conference at the Chateau Impney in Droitwich Spa.
