I would like to add my congratulations to all of the local young people who have picked up their A-Level and GCSE results in the past two weeks.
As we all know, the final years of school and college are an important time for a young person to decide plans for further academic learning, or for entering the world of work. Of course, we are now at that time of the year where our business community can help to inspire the younger generations by showcasing the success of our businesses, sectors and industries.
There is a perfect opportunity to do just this at the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair, taking place next week from 3pm – 7pm on Thursday 30 August. The event will be located at the Worcester Racecourse and will help to promote over 100 roles available for the county’s young people. This provides a fantastic opportunity for school leavers and college leavers to secure a high quality job alongside the opportunity to develop new skills right up to degree-level, with degree apprenticeships set to be featured at the event.
I know that we are expecting over 1,000 people to attend the Worcestershire Apprenticeship recruitment fair, which just goes to show how popular apprenticeships have become as an option for school and college leavers. There will be plenty of employers to choose from as well and it’s always great to see our local businesses taking the extra time to help our younger generations and create new jobs.
