Today is the deadline for the Worcestershire Apprenticeship awards and I would urge all local apprentices, apprenticeship employers, schools and training providers to submit their entries.
Last week we were delighted to announce that the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards 2017 awards ceremony will be presented by one of the UK’s leading live comedians, Mark Watson, at West Midland Safari Park on 16 November 2017.
The Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards does more than celebrate the success of local apprentices and apprenticeship employers, it also recognises the fantastic schools that go the extra mile to inspire their students to consider apprenticeships. Worcestershire’s schools are often the inspiration behind a young person beginning their career with an apprenticeship and it is great to see these local schools get the recognition they deserve.
It’s not only local schools that help to promote the opportunities of taking an apprenticeship. There are many local people who have helped apprentices to take their first steps toward starting their apprenticeship. Whether these are business employees or previous apprentices themselves, apprenticeship ambassadors play an important role in raising the profile and quality of apprenticeships locally, and I am delighted that we celebrate these ambassadors each year.
Thanks go to all local sponsors that help to make this event possible, with Yamazaki Mazak (UK) Ltd and Worcester Bosch Group once again sponsoring the two main awards. Thanks also go to other award sponsors: Titania, Morgan Motor Company, WBL Consultancy, Sanctuary Group, Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, Vestia Community Trust, Worcestershire Training Providers Association, Careers and Enterprise Company, Southco and Heartbeat – The Training Academy.
I would urge all local apprentices, apprenticeship employers, schools and training providers to enter the awards as a great way of recognising the hugely positive impact that apprenticeships have on our local workforce.
