It is great to see how many businesses are entering awards as well as accessing the excellent local business support available.
I look forward to joining an audience of over 500 people at the 2016 Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business awards next week at the University of Worcester Arena. Forty businesses are on the shortlist for the eleven awards as well as the coveted Overall Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Sanlam. I am certain that this year’s awards will once again be a spectacular event and I would like to wish the best of luck to all shortlisted local businesses.
Apprentices add so much to the workplace and local companies can learn more about the new Apprenticeship Levy at a free event held by Worcestershire Apprenticeships. The Apprenticeship Levy event, taking place from 9:30am-12noon on Wednesday 6 July 2016 at Worcester Racecourse, is aimed at employers who will, or may be, in scope for the levy in April 2017. Worcestershire Apprenticeship’s event will discuss how the levy will work and how companies can maximise their return on investment. Book your place at the earliest opportunity by emailing info@worcsapprenticeships.org.uk with details available on our website.
Local businesses also have the chance to feed their topics of concern or discussion to the Worcestershire LEP Business Board, which is meeting on 15 June 2016. The Business Board, which is chaired by Mark Martin who is owner and Director of One Creative Environments Ltd., provides a sounding board for advice and feedback to the Board and ensures that the voices of local businesses are heard in decisions for the wider economy. If there is a topic that is affecting your business which you would like the Business Board to address, please contact the team by calling 01905 672700 or emailing enquiries@wlep.co.uk so that this can be added to the agenda.
