Worcestershire LEP Chair, Mark Stansfeld: 4 May

First published in the Worcester News on 04.05.2018

Worcestershire continues to be a county that is open for business and this week I am delighted to congratulate Metrasens, TP3 Global and The First Class Pet Company for being announced as winners of the 2018 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are awarded to businesses that make outstanding achievements in the categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility. It is therefore great to see three Worcestershire businesses recognised this year. Metrasens won their award through outstanding efforts in innovation but were also able to win an award last year for International trade. So I would like to extend a special congratulations to Metrasens and their team in Malvern for the back to back successes.

Both TP3 Global and The First Class Pet Company received their Queen’s Awards for the success they’ve had this year in International trade, which just goes to show the reach of our local businesses.

To apply for the 2019 Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, visit the www.gov.uk website and submit your application between 8 May and 14 September 2018.

With innovation for Worcestershire businesses in mind, there will soon be 2 WINN events that I would urge you to register for. These events aim to provide a platform for individuals to share and promote the innovative activities being delivered in the region. WINN aspires to bring together innovators to act as a catalyst to create connections and collaborations across Worcestershire.

The WINN events will take place on the 16 May at Open Space Rooms in Malvern and 13 June at Evesham Football Club in Evesham between 5:30pm to 8pm. I would encourage Worcestershire businesses to attend either of the two WINN events. If you would like to find out more about WINN or the upcoming events, visit the Worcestershire LEP website www.wlep.co.uk
