Last week we heard the great news that three Worcestershire businesses have been recognised as some of the fastest growing businesses in the UK, in the Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 league table for 2017. The league table, published on Thursday 30 March, ranks Britain’s private companies with the fastest-growing profits over three years. I would like to congratulate the Worcestershire businesses Gtech (ranked 11th), Lioncourt Homes (ranked 16th) and Brintons (ranked 67th) for their fantastic achievement in receiving this accolade. For more information on the Sunday Times BDO Profit Track 100 list, visit the Worcestershire LEP website.
There is still grant funding available for Worcestershire’s expanding businesses and I would urge all interested businesses to submit their application for the fourth round of Worcestershire Growth Fund before the 13 April 2017 deadline. Up to £100,000 worth of grants are available to successful applicants and applications must result in new and sustainable jobs based in Worcestershire. Previous rounds of Worcestershire Growth Fund have already supported a total of 25 businesses with a total grant funding of £1.6m and have created more than 200 jobs overall. This includes Alloygator in Redditch who have been able to secure major contracts in Japan, USA and Sweden following their investment from the fund. The new financial year will bring more opportunities for businesses and Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership will continue to invest in projects that help to unlock the potential of local companies. I look forward to capturing some of Worcestershire’s business success later this year at the Worcestershire LEP Annual Conference on 1 December and please do save the date.
