In recent weeks we have seen the IPCC launch their assessment report on Global Warming. Here at the Worcestershire LEP and Growth Hub we are working with local, regional and national partners to help businesses with reaching Net Zero.
Firstly, we have finalised the details for the Net Zero Carbon Battlebus, which is touring the UK, and stopping in Worcester as part of their tour leading up to the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) event.
This is great news to have the Battlebus confirmed for the county, it will help further emphasise the issue of global warming and what we can all do to help minimise its impact. The event is on 20th September and is free to attend and open to all who are interested in learning more.
The LEP working with partners like the University of Worcester, County Council and District Councils are supporting the Battlebus event and helping to provide examples of businesses and organisations within the county who have made and benefitted from green energy changes.

Secondly, alongside this Net Zero Battlebus event, the LEP and Growth Hub will be running our own business breakfast event, also on 20th September. This breakfast will be supporting the COP26 theme and is focused on helping Worcestershire businesses to access clean energy support schemes.
Worcestershire businesses of all sizes are invited to the breakfast, which will also take place at the University of Worcester. We will discuss the various support grants and schemes which will help businesses reach their net zero targets. Worcestershire Growth Hub’s Green Energy and Sustainability advisor, The Clean Tech Business Group, will also be giving a specialised talk.
As the event finishes, the Net Zero Battlebus will be arriving at the University and attendees will be able to follow on from our breakfast and attend the special event run by the Net Zero Carbon Battlebus team.
