Worcestershire LEP’s 2016 Annual Report revealed at Conference

Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership’s 2016 Annual Report, which is introduced by Rt. Hon Sajid Javid MP, was revealed at last week’s #WLEP16 Conference.

In recent years, Worcestershire has achieved the strongest growth in higher level workforce skills, the second highest growth in productivity and the third highest growth in prosperity of all 38 LEP areas.

The Worcestershire LEP’s 2016 report reviews another 12 months of success for the business community and County as a whole, helping to increase productivity by £2.9bn GVA, create an extra 25,000 jobs and enable 21,500 homes – all by 2025.

The Chair of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, Mark Stansfeld, and Chief Executive, Gary Woodman, provide introductions and insights into the 24 page report which outlines delivery against the four areas of the Worcestershire LEP Business Plan:

  • Planning, Infrastructure and Development
  • Employment and Skills
  • Business Growth
  • Profiling and Promotion.

The annual report highlights delivery of Worcestershire’s £54.2m Growth Deal Programme and the schemes to improve infrastructure, skills and business support as well as delivery around the €68m EU funding for the County. An end of year financial report and board member and business board member overview, as well as details of the WLEP Area European Structural and Investment Funds Sub Committee can also be found in the report.
