Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership’s 2015 Annual Report, which is introduced by Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills, Rt. Hon Sajid Javid MP, is now available.
In recent years, Worcestershire had the third fastest growing economy nationally and most recently it has been found that the County’s productivity grew by 2.7% between 2012-13, the fastest of all 39 LEP areas.
The latest annual report reviews yet another year of progress against the long-term targets to benefit the County’s long term prosperity: increasing productivity by £2.9bn GVA, creating an extra 25,000 jobs and enabling 21,500 homes – all by 2025
Mark Stansfeld, Chair of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, and Gary Woodman, Executive Director, provide introductions and insights into the 24 page report which outlines delivery against the four areas of the Worcestershire LEP Business Plan:
- Planning, Infrastructure and Development
- Employment and Skills
- Business Growth
- National Profiling and Promotion.
The report provides details on delivery for Worcestershire’s £54.2m Growth Deal Programme and the schemes to improve infrastructure, skills and business support as well as updates regarding the €68m EU funding for the County. An end of year financial report and board member and business board member overview, as well as details of the WLEP Area European Structural and Investment Funds Sub Committee can also be found in the report.
The Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership’s 2015 Annual Report was distributed at the fully subscribed #WLEP15 Annual Conference on 13 November 2015 and can be downloaded here.
