Worcestershire is in the top 3 places for occupier rankings in the Midlands, UK.
The index was created by CoStar, a leader in commercial property information, to highlight the most dynamic places to invest with Worcestershire one of the top places in the Midlands and the UK.
Worcestershire’s strong showing was due to a flurry of occupier expansions (Kimal, Siemens Material Solutions, Kohler Mira) and consistent demand from firms in the professional services and tech sectors. Although large lettings grabbed the headlines last year, there continues to be brisk demand for smaller spaces.
The CoStar 50 Office Activity Index captures occupier and investment activity across the 50 largest UK Office Markets (in terms of amount of office stock). The Index ranked ‘occupier demand’ by measuring the net absorption as a percentage of the total amount of stock in each market.
Stuart Emmerson, Director of Investment and Partnerships, Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “CoStar’s Index is yet more independent evidence of the growing amount of interest Worcestershire is receiving from investors who are looking to set up their offices and headquarters in the county. The county is taking advantage of its central location, investment in tech and skills to attract the brightest and the best firms.
“We are working closely with developers across the region to ensure that many more investors can access and benefit from the top-quality office space that has helped to revolutionise Worcestershire’s reputation for business.”
