Rural businesses have one week remaining to register for the first of a series of workshops to understand how they can benefit from European Funding.
The ‘Pie and Pint’ workshops, which take place during February and March 2017, will help businesses in more rural locations to understand the available funding streams suitable for their business.
In Worcestershire, there are a range of European Union funding opportunities and the workshops are designed so that businesses do not need to understand all of the available funding on offer. Instead, attendees can discuss their own company’s ideas and plans with experts who will be on hand to offer details of available funding streams appropriate to their business model as well as provide details of the support on offer to help them in their bids.
Companies that have already benefited from similar funding will also be available to share their experiences of the funding process and to outline how their companies have grown as a result of the funding and support.
The sessions will take place on 15 February at Village Hall, Overbury, 16 February at Pershore College, 28 February at Ombersley Golf Club and 2 March at Federation of Young Farmers club.
The workshops are a collaboration between Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, Country Land and Business Association, National Farmers’ Union (NFU) and representatives from the LEADER Programme which is run by Worcestershire County Council.
Gary Woodman, Chief Executive of Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, said: “Rather than applying for one European Union funding stream, I would encourage businesses in rural areas to come and discuss their business plans with experts who can then advise on the most appropriate funding streams for their business as well as the support on offer. Do make sure you secure your place today by contacting Worcestershire Business Central.”
