World Class Worcestershire

It is great to see that increasing numbers of organisations and individuals are promoting Worcestershire as a World Class place to live, work, visit and do business. We continue to raise the profile of the County regionally, nationally and internationally in a number of ways and I would urge others to get involved.

Following the successful World Class Worcestershire inward investment event in London in November, we are now looking forward to a further important event on 28 January at the Hotel Du Vin in Birmingham. We and partner organisations are working alongside West Midlands Business Desk at this inward investment event and our thanks go to Harrison Clark Rickerbys who are sponsoring the event. Registrations are already approaching capacity with potential investors, developers and interested parties from across the region. We are also organising a visit to the County during the Spring for those national developers, commercial agents and companies who have expressed an interest in seeing for themselves the many opportunities available.

Can I encourage as many local businesses as possible to attend the Worcestershire Devolution Business Debate which we have organised together with the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Small Businesses and the Institute of Directors. This event, which takes place on 6 February at the Artrix in Bromsgrove from 7:30am until 10:30am, will discuss the ever-topical impacts of devolution and its potential impact on skills, transport and business support.  Businesses should register at the earliest opportunity by emailing devodebate@wlep.co.uk as this event is vital for local companies who want the mysteries of devolution unravelled and to have a say on what the priorities should be moving forward.

In the year ahead we will be looking for further opportunities to meet with businesses and 2015 will be another big year for World Class Worcestershire.
