Hello and welcome to the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership newsletter March 2026. It’s been a really busy time, as always this time of year. Loads going on. Some of the team are recovering from TechFest 2.0, which was fantastic. We delivered 13 events. 900 people came across those events, and it culminated in the BetaDen Showcase, which, finished cohort nine. There was some fantastic, companies in that. And our Catalyse Angel network was in the room as well. We hear they are making investments. So things are really working here in terms of, putting those people together who’ve got great ideas and those people who are, who are looking to back them.
So that’s a really important thing. Equally, we’ve seen, Careers Week, National Careers Week. And as part of that, we’ve done our skills expo where we’ve had 4500 young people through with over, 50 employers and training providers, showing their wares of all the different careers we’ve got here in Worcestershire, a really fantastic event, and it was a great pleasure to see it again. Really full, really busy. We did lots of things around it. Bringing other employers in to talk about the modern work experience changes. So we really use these events to have that conversation about careers, skills and opportunities here in Worcestershire. Not just to our young people, but also our employers and giving both the best chance at really creating growth and creating jobs in the county.
Other things that we’ve seen are, the economy report that we’ve done is just here, in hard copy, but also on the website. So we’ve done one of these for the last, few years now, but this is 2026, the latest updated version. Obviously, a lot of the economic data gets updated annually. But the team have put that together, in record time. And I’m really proud of that document. In terms of what it can tell you. Award entries for apprenticeship awards have opened and, get your applications in early and get your applications in early I would say. Last year we were overwhelmed with the number and we want to see that number again.
